The Joint Retirement Board for Conservative Judaism, Amutah, (JRB) is the Plan sponsor
and Plan administrator of a denominational retirement plan for rabbis, cantors and professional
and administrative staff for the congregations and affiliated organizations of Conservative Judaism.
Your retirement savings account is self-directed. This means that you are responsible for choosing the investments in your accounts and making sure they align with your investment goals, risk profile, and time horizon.
During your working career, the contributions to your JRB account and the earnings on those contributions help you build a financially secure retirement. Since the goal of the Plan is to accumulate savings for retirement, most participants wait until they retire to withdraw their money.
Founded in 1945, the JRB shares common religious bonds and convictions with the Conservative Movement and is led by a distinguished group representing the Cantors Assembly, the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Rabbinical Assembly and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, as well as the Jewish Educators Assembly and the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE).
